Lynne was extremely helpful to the Conference Committee for the 2005
Yosemite CCAPA Conference. Quite frankly, and without dramatizing, Central
Section could not have pulled together the conference without her.
Consider the following, and keep in mind that the Conference was held in
October, 2005:
1. All sponsors were locked in by January, 2005. Lynne pulled this
together almost singlehandedly.
2. All panels and keynote speakers were locked in by April 2005. This task
was achieved by the Committee who had been freed up from administrative
details, to concentrate on the program content. This gave us 6 months to "sell" a fully developed conference.
3. If you really think about it, Yosemite is not an effective Conference
facility; it's a national park, with breakout sessions scattered throughout
the Valley. Only one session was overbooked. Through Lynne's extensive
advance planning and on-site coordination ( rockslide wiped out 10 of our
rooms two days before the Conference) , not to mention shrewd negotiation
skills for meals and room rates, the "customer experience" of attendees came
off without a hitch.
How else can you measure success?
