In 2004, Meetings Xceptional was retained to help plan Inland Empire Section of the American Planning Association. The task? Make the most of a once-in-a-decade opportunity to advance a smaller section of a national organization and give its members something to remember. Read the testimonial below.

"Lynne Bynder was a major factor in the success of the 2004 California Chapter American Planning Association (CCAPA) Conference hosted by the Inland Empire Section. This event is the once-in-a-decade opportunity to advance our local section of the APA. We achieved the highest attendance in the history of CCAPA Conference. The profit from this event has provided a substantial financial base for more and better programs for our members and generated a good deal of respect and goodwill from planners throughout California. Much of credit for this goes to Lynne Bynder. While our members generously contributed a great deal of time and effort, Lynne’s coordination and knowledge were critical. Lynne has now been hired as executive director of Inland Empire Section. The California Chapter has retained Lynne to organize the 2005 CCAPA Conference and the Cahuilla District APA is having her organize their events.

Like most small professional organizations, we have suffered from a lack of volunteers to organize events. While our larger events have generally been financially successful, we have only been able to manage a fraction of the number that our members desire and would support. The addition of Lynne as executive director has resulted in our scheduling a number of major events, as well as monthly lunch programs, for the next year. I have no doubt that Lynne’s efforts will result in much better service to our members and a far more robust professional organization overall."
